One of the most powerful aspects of social networking is sharing resources. Check out these free facebook training videos from lifechurch.tv

Facebook Training VideosI love the church. I believe the church is at its best when we are ONE in heart, mind and Spirit. The church should be the most innovative, creative organization in culture. After all, we serve the author of all creativity. In the book of Acts, the effectiveness of a unified church is clear. "All of the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. There were NO needy persons among them." (Acts 4:32-34a)

Sharing is the power of the body of Christ. One of the most innovative churches in America,...

Buzz — Google’s entry into the real-time social web — is becoming increasingly more popular. It is already competing with Twitter, MySpace and Facebook.

Here are some tools to help churches, ministries and non-profits get the most out of Google Buzz:

Buzz and Twitter Logos#1 Buzz Can Tweet - If it keeps us from doing repetitive work it's a good thing. With Buzz Can Tweet, you have the capability to synchronize Buzz with your Twitter feed, automatically updating Twitter with the same message whenever you post a buzz.

In case you only want to send a Buzz-specific update, it offers an option for selective tweeting only buzzes with certain hashtags (like #twitter).

What’s great about Buzz Can Tweet is that it makes messages longer than Twitter’s 140-character limit easier to deal with, generating a short URL to your buzz update so that your Tweeps can read the message in its entirety.

Facebook: A Communication Card for Churches

Commuication CardCommunication or information cards are important tools for churches to gather contact information from their congregations.

At Mission Church, we found one of the greatest tools in connecting with people is Facebook. At least 80% of our congregation is on facebook. Yes, we are a young church but a large percentage of our parents and grandparents are on facebook too.

When people attend Mission Church for the first time, they usually do not fill out one of our communication cards. As a pastor, that can be frustrating. If you have a heart for people and genuinely care about them, you want to connect with them. You want to pray for them. You want to see them thrive. My heart for people is to inspire them to the adventure, joy and abundance that God has for them. It is hard to inspire someone if you cannot connect with them. Facebook is a great tool to close this communication gap.
